In order to sit the ECDL/ICDL Advanced qualification you first need to register with your local test centre and pay a registration fee. Details of your local test centre can be found at www.ecdl.co.uk for the UK and www.ecdl.com for the rest of the world.

The way in which you choose to study for your ECDL/ICDL Advanced will vary from person to person, to suit differing needs. CiA offers flexible IT training solutions to allow varied approaches to learning:

Open learning - CiA has written structured, self-teach open learning materials specifically for the ECDL Advanced syllabus. For each of the four qualifications, a book has been developed with supporting data files which enable you to work at home, work, or wherever there's a PC.

There are four independent modules, each of which is a stand-alone qualification. The exam for each module lasts 1 hour and on its successful completion you will be awarded the qualification.
